Preventing RV Buyer’s Remorse

There’s nothing like an RV to up your camping game, but it’s not always easy getting the perfect model. Unfortunately, if you settle for one that’s almost right, you might end up with a serious case of buyer’s remorse. We here at C&R Auto & Trailer Sales want to help you stay happy with your purchase, so we’ve put together a brief guide to preventing buyer’s remorse, below. To learn more, or to see the RVs we have for sale, contact our store in Tremonton, Utah, today!

Floor Plans

No matter what else your RV includes, if the floor plan doesn’t mesh with you, it can create some friction. Too little storage space can mean sacrificing comfort and wants on your trips, and too little living space can make for a crowded space.

Before you buy your RV, think about the space you’ll need incredibly carefully. Consider the maximum number of people you’ll want to accommodate, what type of traveling you’ll do, and what you’ll need to bring with you to make it all work.

Warranties

Warranties are pretty complicated, and it’s easy to just accept the default option without realizing how limited it can be. If the warranty is a concern for you at all, it’s worth it to ask the questions you need to ask to determine just what is and isn’t covered. Spend time examining the warranty options and ask every question you can think of! It’s always better to know.

Mobility

Of course, the RV doesn’t just vanish from your garage or driveway and show up at the campsite. You need to get it there, and how it handles on the roads—specifically, the roads you already know you’ll be traveling—can make a huge difference.

Remember that not all RVs handle the same, particularly if you’re new to the experience. Check out things like the suspension, vibration dampening, and hitch support, and always ask for a test drive.

Amenities

It’s all too easy to think the RV you found is perfect, only to learn after the purchase about features and options you didn’t know were an option. Take your time before you go into any purchase discussions to research exactly what’s out there. If you have time, attend RV shows to check out unique and upcoming features. Alternatively, visit manufacturer websites or talk to our knowledgeable staff to learn about the things you didn’t know you wanted.

Price

And of course, buying something that puts more of a dent in your finances than you thought it would is the perfect recipe for buyer’s remorse. Make sure to set a strict budget before you even begin your hunt, based solely on what you know you can afford.
